I'm cold!
Can't wait to sweat and burn up at the gym. Billy asks to go every day. How about that for motivation?
In case you didn't know I am the luckiest wife in the world.
I'm having a Bill Appriciation Day today.
That MAN - I wouldn't want to even attempt life without him.
If you can't find me on Facebook that is because I am taking a break for a while.
Scrabblegate and the like - ha!
I'm so grateful for my friends. I had a magical day shopping with Kim & her rockin' daughter Vicki on Monday. I have commissioned Vicki to draw a warrior princess based on the collage I posted earlier. She is a fantastic artist! Bill, Billy & I spent some time with Brooke on Saturday at the Yellow Dasiy Festival. I watched her daughter, Tara, bust some sick clogging moves! No wonder they need an addition on the house for all the trophies!
Hey now, wow, I spent time with both my bridesmaids in one week! How cool is that? I need some sister time to complete the trifecta!
We are attending a wedding next month and I have found the perfect gown - $29 and gorgeous! Gotta love Ross. Then I get the bad news that we are attending the rehersal dinner as well which means I need 2 dresses. Well, ok, I guess I can shop some more!
So best wishes go out to Sarah & Scott - may you survive the next month of pre-wedding madness!
Let's see how many push-ups I can do in the next 3 1/2 weeks to get sleeveless ready!

One Year
How can it be a year since my first surgery already?
Someone asked me other day if I would do it all again. I don't know how to answer that. Could I do things differently this time? The road I took was long, painful and bumpy but it got me here. I regret missing Billy's first month of kindergarten but I am there more for him every day. I've been more active with him. Is that worth the month I missed? I hope so in the long run! More and more I've been 'there' for myself as well as Bill & Billy. I can't regret that.
Losing so much weight brings about new issues like needing all new clothes. Or wishing I had a sports bra for my ass. Or dealing with compliments. Or dealing with people that are betting that I gain it all back.
The issue above all issues is my self worth.
I love myself so deal with that!

Summer!
As we dive into summer it is evident that life sure is different than last summer!
My weight has been rather stable and I'm ok with that.
I've lost 89 lbs so how could I not be thrilled with that!
I'm wearing a size 14 dress today and feel girly and cute.
I bought a few bathing suits and even feel confident at the pool!
My tummy and health have been just dandy.
My back still hurts from time to time.
Might be the new cute heels I'm wearing :-)
Obviously I am in all new clothes now - so my biggest problem is paying off the Kohl's and Penney's credit cards. Now accepting donations and gift cards! LOL
We had a fabulous time in Destin over Memorial Day weekend. Billy took his 1st boat ride.
I took a few amazing bike rides around the gorgeous resort.
Billy is having the time of his life going on daily field trips at summer camp.
Today they are at the Georgia Aquarium! Next week - a Braves game!
I am still learning about food addiction and how to deal with life sober. Women, Food and God by Geneen Roth is an amazing book. A Course in Weight Loss by Marianne Williamson is deep and difficult. The more layers I take off the onion that is my complex self the more I understand how important it is to be a loving, kind and God fearing parent. The lack of self care/love, the lack of parental care/love and the lack of self awareness - all need healing. I'd love to do a study with someone and talk about this fun stuff. Like that's not enough to study I also started Radical by David Platt (Bible study at The Bridge) and The Courage to Heal workbook.
I found the following helpful and thought it could help someone else!

I am dealing with mixed emotions as my bestie Jodi follows the calling of God to move her family to the Dominican Republic. I am so proud of her and Michael! They are Radical for the hearts and souls of the lost. Please follow their journey, too!

I found the following helpful and thought it could help someone else!
Tennie McCarty (Founder and Therapist, Shades of Hope Treatment Center in Buffalo Gap, Texas and on the show Addicted to Food on OWN) speaking of food addiction:
No one caused it, it's not a character defect, and you are not weak-willed. It is an addiction that is treatable.
Bob Greene from Oprah.com:
For Bob, dieting has never been the be-all, end-all quick fix to eliminating weight loss problems and keeping the weight off in the long run. "Weight is a symptom of something that needs to change," he said on The Oprah Show in 2003. "It's usually not simply about food."
As a part of making a commitment to lose weight, Bob says you should ask yourself three important questions to start off on the right track:
1. Why are you overweight?
The real answer to this question is not simply: I like food—it goes much deeper, he says. "Are you in a toxic relationship? Do you hate what you do for a living? What is it about your life you would change?" Bob asks. "That answer is different for everyone. Get in touch with that."
2. Why do you want to lose weight?
The answer to this question will help you determine if you're beginning your weight loss journey with the right mindset, Bob says. "So many people [say], 'Oh, I have my reunion coming up,' or 'I get pressure from people at the workplace or my friends.' Those might get you going, but they'll never be long-term solutions," he explains. "The [best] answer to this question is, 'I want a better life for myself.'"
3. Why haven't you been successful to date?
If you have tried to lose weight in the past, Bob says it is important to explore the obstacles that have stood in your way to maintaining your goal weight. "It's about identifying what is going to trip you up, because the same things will trip you up if you haven't resolved the heart of the issue," he says.
If you can answer those questions honestly, Bob says, you are truly ready to begin.

Happy Easter
March sucked. In an effort to beautify my mother-in-law's landscaping, I got a systemic case of poison ivy from my face to my ankles. Lovely. It was bad enough for a shot & mega round of prednisone - my arch enemy! The garden looks amazing. My legs are still scabby. yea.
So I am still scabby and now have a sore lower back. Not sure what I did to hurt my back. Maybe picking up Billy? Maybe sitting wrong for a long time? Who knows. I do know muscle relaxers make me tired for days and rather emotional. Here's to hoping for a healthy, happy May! I want to get back to exercise!
I broke even for the month with my weight on the prednisone. That's different! A round of prednisone usually results in a 10 -15 lb weigh gain. Wow, I craved sweets. Peeps - lots of Peeps. Blue Peeps. Pink and Purple Bunny Peeps. Bring 'em on!! And chocolate. And Chick-fil-a chicken mini's. Yum! Now it is time to detox from the junk (as I eat strawberries with a can of redi-whip).
Please pray for the healing of my back and the healing of my soul. I am still sorting through the compulsive eating work in counseling. My work revolves around 'Women, Food & God' by Geneen Roth. This book will change your life if you struggle with using anything (eating, smoking, drinking, internet, shopping) to numb, avoid or distract yourself from feeling or dealing. Perhaps a book club is in order. Skype? Starbucks & Skype? Hummm...
On a positive note - YES I HAVE ONE - I bought some new shorts this week that are a size 14. They are a little tight but should fit great in a month when we head to Destin for Memorial Day weekend. I found a few swim suits I like. Somehow Billy is already set for summer and fall. I hit clearance racks at Target & JCPenney and found super deals at the consignment shop. We are excited about our trip. We are staying at Sandestin Resort in a condo.

February!
Hey now, it's February!
I went shopping this past week.
Silly me.
I thought being out of plus sizes would make shopping easier.
Not so much!
It was hard work but I found pants and shirts that fit and that I like.
JCPenney and Kohl's had lots to pick from.
And the weight loss total is.... 80 pounds.
My tummy is acting up a bit but I think it is due to stress.
Perhaps I will go back to 2 Zegrid's a day for a few days.
The really sad news is that my hair is falling out! There is way too much hair in the comb every morning. I've started amping up the protein and taking a hair supplement with silica. Please stay, hair.
Hopefully this weekend I will get to take a few photos with my bestie Jodi.
I need a new head shot with some of the new clothes.
Still stressed out with family issues. I'm about to crack. Or drink. Or run.
Enough about me.... how are you?

Jan 2011
So far 2011 has been a monumental train wreck.
My step mom, Debbie died on Jan 3rd. She was only 52 years old. She was my mommy from the time I was 6 until I was 14. I'm so glad I found her 4 years ago.
I need prayers on another family situation. Big, fat, beautiful prayers.
Weight loss has slowed down. I lost so much so fast with the gastritis. I'm now at 74 lbs gone. Tummy feels good and my energy is a little better.
